Year 80

Michael Nosa Asemota

My father would have been 80 today.

I am grateful for the life he lived and grateful that he gave us life. Because he lived, we are also alive.

There is now also another generation of his grandchildren and one is even named after him. He lives on in all of us.

I have decided that instead of dreaming of the carnival we would have had if he had been alive, we will plan a proper carnival to celebrate his life every year.

From today, I will no longer look at March 2nd as a day of sadness but a day of happiness. The day that another step was taken towards the creation of our beloved family.

Today is Father’s Day for us now and forever.

Thank you, Dad!
